🎞️ 🎙️ ATTENTION: Are you a podcast or radio host or book club host?
We’d love to appear on your media to talk about teen depression, BDD, and/or its relationship to the pressures created by social media.
OR: The Girl with the Black and Blue Doll, or another topic.
The Girl is about a girl who becomes depressed at an early age, but it’s by no means a downer of a read. You’ll cheer for the girl’s successes as she comes of age.
And…It’s all told in the voice of the girl!
BY THE WAY…
I was editing my website’s blog “categories” today. I had received the opinion, from a book promoter, that my categories were too broad. He said that if I wanted my categories to do some work in increasing the visibility and position of my memoir, The Girl with the Black and Blue Doll, I should delete the “blah” and/or “less interesting” categories.
I accepted that opinion without too much thought.
I deleted a few.
But then, I clicked on some of the remaining categories that appear in the right-side list on the Blog page.
I read one, then another, and another…!
Some went back to the 20-teens. And guess what, those blog posts serve as a reflection of how I was thinking back in the day… through good times and bad. Trying to find an agent, describing the day I had a 7-hour surgery for breast cancer… a double mastectomy and reconstruction. And on…
There’s not a doubt in my mind that these blogs must remain! They are a true measure of who I am, how much I’ve grown as a writer, and how I express myself then and today.
I encourage you to go to the Blog page and click on a category. You might be surprised. Actually, you’ll definitely be surprised, but it will be a pleasant surprise of the realization that “blog” doesn’t always mean “blah”.
Thanks for visiting!
